Honda Civic Hybrid Review
Honda made history in 1999 by releasing the first gasoline-electric hybrid car
sold in the US. Then, in 2003, Honda did better than any other auto maker when
it comes to producing Hybrid Electric vehicles with the debut of the first mass-produced
gasoline-electric hybrid. It is used to power one of the most popular subcompacts
in America, the Honda Civic.
What is a gasoline-electric hybrid car? Hybrid Electric vehicles like the Honda
Civic Hybrid, combines the internal combustion engine of a conventional vehicle
with the battery and electric motor of an electric vehicle. This results to twice
the fuel economy of conventional vehicles. The benefits of a gasoline-electric
hybrid car like the Honda Civic Hybrid include improved fuel economy and lower
emissions compared to conventional vehicles.
The Civic Hybrid is part of the Honda Civic line-up. It is a new breed of Honda
Civics that made use of leading edge technology to offer a more fuel efficient
and environment-friendly automobile. It does not look any different from a regular
Civic sedan although a closer look will reveal some minor changes in detail that
make it look more upscale. Even if it has a different drivetrain than a regular
Civic, it still drives like one.
The hybrid engine's performance does not have any noticeable differences during
normal driving. The Civic has long been known for its good performance, nice ride
and high degree of refinement. With the hybrid engine, we can add superb fuel
efficiency and environment-friendliness to its long list of accolades.
