2003 Honda Civic Hybrid
The 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid is the first mass-produced gasoline-electric hybrid
car in America. The 2003 Civic Hybrid is available in two versions, one with a
manual transmission and another with continuously variable automatic transmission
(CVT). The CVT provides a smoother transmission which also results to better fuel
economy. It uses an electric motor to help a special 1.3 liter gasoline engine.
Except for some minor details, the Civic Hybrid looks like any regular Civic sedan.
Even under the hood differences from the regular Civic are not that noticeable.
One remarkable thing about the Honda Civic Hybrid is that at normal driving it
is hardly any different from driving a regular Civic, although there are, of course,
new sensations that the user will encounter with the hybrid engine. It offers
a smooth ride and admirable steering with its new electrically operated rack-and-pinion
steering system. Meanwhile, the Hybrid's interiors set it apart from other Civics,
being a bit more stylish than the top-of-the-line EX Model. The Honda Civic Hybrid
is the car perfect for environmentally-conscious people. It offers the renowned
reliability and civility of the Honda Civic line plus a different feel to it.
